MIRANTE ASSOCIATION
Our focus is education.

Watch the summary of our first project.

Through a partnership with Furnas Centrais Elétricas SA, the Mirante Association initiated a training program with teachers and administrators from the Orlando Paulino da Costa Municipal School in Alfenas, with the goal of collaboratively developing pedagogical practices more connected to the realities of rural areas.

Throughout the program, educators, students, and school staff were invited to rethink the daily routine of the school, developing proposals that engaged with the territory, local culture, and students' experiences. More than applying a ready-made methodology, the process was one of collective construction—experimenting, adjusting, and creating new paths for teaching.

During this period, new practices and activities were incorporated into the school's daily routine, broadening the perspective on students' potential and strengthening the link between learning and reality.

At the end of the cycle, the school is strengthened not only with new pedagogical tools, but also with greater autonomy to continue evolving over the years.

This process also opened up opportunities for improvements to the school's physical infrastructure, made possible through partnerships with the private sector, based on needs identified by the school community itself.

Our story

In July 2021, a group of residents from Alfenas, with different backgrounds and professions, came together around a shared concern: how to contribute, in a real way, to improving life in the region where they live.

From this desire to work together, the Mirante Association was born.

From the outset, the focus has been on public education — especially in rural areas, where the challenges are greater and often invisible. Mirante emerged with the purpose of strengthening these schools, recognizing that education is one of the most powerful ways to transform realities.

Their first project, focused on Rural Education, stems from a simple but essential idea: school needs to make sense to those who are there. Therefore, the proposal aims to bring teaching closer to the reality, culture, and daily lives of children and young people who live in rural areas.

More than just implementing projects, Mirante believes in collective construction — listening to teachers, students, and communities, and valuing local knowledge as a fundamental part of the educational process.

Based on values such as ethics, respect, justice, social responsibility, and transparency, the association continues to operate, believing in education as a vital instrument for social transformation.
